The University of Southampton seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Philosophy for 12 months from September 2024. 

The Philosophy Department at Southampton has an excellent reputation for teaching and research. We were ranked 6th in REF2021 by overall GPA and 1st equal for impact. We are based within the School of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and have close interdisciplinary links with other members of the School and the wider University. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Philosophy or a related subject, and proven teaching skills. They will be enthusiastic and flexible in contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in a research-led curriculum, and will be keen to participate fully in the intellectual and academic activities of a lively and committed department which prizes collegiality very highly. We welcome applications from those with research background and teaching competences in any area of Philosophy. It is expected that the successful candidate will be asked to teach our 1st and 2nd year philosophy of religion modules.
